Trip #3 - Still at it!

Trip #3 Still at it!

I decided to make this a vacation/work trip.  I would travel to Billings, Montana to visit my oldest son, Shaw, and pick up loads before and after.  But first I had to make a stop in Dallas for the Saints vs. Cowboys game.  And what a game it was.  Being a Saints session ticket holder, I have seen many games, but this one…was great!

Picked up a load in Rowlett, Texas with a drop off in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  It was a little out my way, but not too much.  (fire extinguishers 749 lbs)  Once I left Tulsa I headed to Billings to see my boy.

It had been about a year since I had seen Shaw so I could not get there fast enough.  He was as cute as the last time I saw him.  The Big Sky is beautiful, I was able to ride my bike around town on a few trails and visit a few State Parks while Shaw was at work.  We also took a trip to Yellowstone and stopped at a hot spring.  The hot spring was so awesome, it was our favorite.

Back on the road to work for a week then head home.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota to West Chester, Ohio.  (Tee shirt appliques 292 lbs) – West Chester was actually pretty cool.  I stopped at the Ikea store.  That store drives me crazy, I just don’t like it, not sure why, I just don’t.  With that said, as I was lost and looking for my way out, I found the perfect mattress for my van.  The hammock had to go!  I also found a cafeteria… go figure.

Muncie, Indiana to Williamston, Michigan (a large magnetic item 270 lbs) – Muncie is the home of Ball State.  I was able to pass through the university, it was pretty amazing.  Also, home of an original McDonalds.  Not sure why I was surprised but I was, Michigan is BEAUTIFUL.  The weather was PERFECT.  I took a tour of the State Capitol.  I love history and old buildings.  Downtown was dead, I was the only one walking the streets at lunch time.  Ate at this Cuban restaurant on the corner.  Oh, I also was able to attend a town hall with Robert Kennedy.

South Bend, Indiana to Kearney, Nebraska (some type of pinion 1,365 lbs)  - I picked up this load on a Friday so I could not deliver until Monday.  I decided to camp at Fort Kearny State Park.  I thought it would have bike trails and waterways.  It did not, so I just chilled and enjoyed to quiet.  Dropped of the load early Monday morning and drove the 1,100 miles straight home.

Better Bedder – I carry a Better Bedder phone with me and have my computer, this way I can help out on the phones and take a few orders over the phone when I have down time.  This has worked out great, especially this trip as we had lots of activity and sales.  I love our Better Bedder team.

Home for a couple weeks then I think I’ll head back out.

See ya when I see ya,

  • Nita, I am watching your pitch on Shark Tank and I want to say I’m impressed by your back story. The fact that you left with your kids, lived in an apartment for 2 years to be debt-free, to now having a great solution for mattresses with Better Bedder is inspiring for many. Keep up the great work!

I want you to know that Jesus sees you, loves you, and wants a relationship with you if you don’t already have one. Greatest decision I ever made, and I hope you and your kids make this decision as well :) have a fantastic rest of your vacation/work trip and enhancing people’s lives!
